Location : Rh Manai, Sg Merutop; Limbang
A Gravity-Fed Water System was built to
supply the 18-pintu-longhouse with a reliable and consistent water supply. Two volunteers joined the villagers in the gotong-royong work for this project. The
longhouse folks were using 1Malaysia water tanks to collect rain water for their
daily usage. Two water tanks were introduced into the gravity-fed water system
as water reserves, first time ever in Limbang projects.
3 houses had drawn back from this project,
causing around 1.3km length of 1.1/2 inch HDPE pipe left at the village being
unused; together with its connectors and reducers. The water tank inlet &
outlet design is chaotic during the initial planning stage, hence we had left
some unused fittings and extra holes cut.
The project was successfully completed and the opening ceremony was attended by Alan Ling Sie Kiong (ADUN Piasau), Wong Kah Woh (ADUN Canning), Terence Naidu (ADUN Pasir Bedamar), Lim Su Kien (DAP Senadin Branch Chairman), Hong Ching Loo (Limbang DAP Protem Chairman).
